The Audubon Center has committed itself to authorizing charter schools that have recognized the importance of experiential and environmental education. In addition to providing oversight of the schools' educational outcomes, finances, and operations, we also collaborate with our schools by offering trainings and curriculum resources.

  • An annual retreat to connect to other schools that have similar goals,
  • Connections to the state organizations that are committed to charter school success,
  • The option of graduate training and residential experiences that are tied to the schools mission
  • A group of experts who can help the schools overcome obstacles and develop projects that will be successful and significant.

Charter schools the Audubon Center
currently authorizes are:

In addition, the Center has approved contracts
with the following schools to open in 2010:

Request for Proposals (RFP)

The RFP is our design for a charter school that would encompass the best of an environmental education focused charter school. Those who are considering a charter should look at this RFP and decide if this is what they would like. If it is contact us for sponsorship and guidance. We will consider other charter school proposals, but will give priority to sponsoring schools that adopt this model.

First ever charter school sports champions!!

Dear School Leaders:

Today, ACNW sponsored school, Prairie Seeds Academy is the Class A High School Boy’s State Soccer Champion.

Mankato East & Prairie Seeds were tied 2-2 at end of regular time… & at the beginning of the second overtime, Prairie Seeds scored the winner. Sports does encourage better academic performance & also school pride which at the Metrodome today was great to see. Prairie Seeds has a diverse population, in its 7th year. K-12 with 745 students.

-Steve

PS: The first ever charter school state championship.

Way to go, Prairie Seeds!
